RCMC returns to the Holland stage with a very special concert to celebrate our 35th Anniversary Season. Hear Nebraska’s largest LGBTQ arts organization pay tribute to iconic artists from Broadway, film, and the Pop charts who have impacted and shaped our community over the last three decades, including Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Judy Garland, Dolly Parton, and more!
Along with celebrating our anniversary, RCMC will also commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, which led to the modern LGBTQ civil rights movement, by presenting the co-commissioned piece “Quiet No More”. This new work honors the brave activists of the Stonewall protests of 1969 and features work by Julian Hornik (Dear Evan Hansen); Our Lady J (Pose, Transparent); Michael McElroy (Rent), and others.
Following the performance, audience members are invited to join the Chorus in the Holland lobby for a reception celebrating RCMC’s 35th Anniversary, featuring dancing, food, and drinks.
RCMC, Nebraska’s LGBTA Chorus, is leaving Omaha and heading west on May 18 for TWO FREE CONCERTS in North Platte, Nebraska and Hastings, Nebraska. Come hear more than 100 singers perform songs from Broadway, the pop charts and more! A brief reception will follow each of the shows. We’re looking forward to seeing all of you!
RCMC provides a source of much needed pride and visibility within the community, and sends a message of acceptance and hope to our friends, co-works, and family members who may be struggling with their own identities.
