On April 8, 2004, Omaha’s Augustana Lutheran Church became a Reconciling in Christ Congregation committed to welcoming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities to their church community.
Augustana held its annual service to specifically celebrate its commitment to inclusion and diversity on Sunday, March 18. As we have in years past, RCMC was part of the celebration providing music during the service to honor Augustana and all those faith communities that open their doors to share God’s love with all. The chorus sang a selection of inspirational songs from our upcoming June concert Sing to Truth to Power. After the service, we sat down for a delicious reception with the congregation.
We want to thank the Rev. Jan Peterson and all the kind people of Augustana Lutheran Church for once again inviting us to help them celebrate their commitment to inclusion. We had a great time singing at the service and were inspired by the sermon that shared the message of God’s universal love for ALL.
